My favourite gear (and other useful stuff)*
Canon EOS RP
A lightweight, full frame mirrorless camera, 26.2 megapixels. I use it to shoot all my YouTube videos but it’s also a great camera for impromptu photowalks due to its small size.
Sirui Compact Traveler 5CX Tripod
The thing I love most about this tripod is it’s super lightweight (~900g) and that it folds down to about 35cm in height, making it super portable. I use it to shoot videos, and on night shoots.
Canon RF 24-105mm f/4 Lens
A great all-purpose lens for most shooting situations and useful for handheld video due to image stabilisation.
Canon RF 35mm f/1.8 Macro IS Lens
Similarly lightweight to the RF 50mm but with the addition of image stabilisation, making it great for videography and handheld shooting in low light conditions.
Canon RF 50mm f/1.8 Lens
An affordable, lightweight standard prime lens with good depth of field.
Peak Design Anchor Connectors
Useful little accessory that I use to securely attach my various cameras and tripods to Peak Design straps.
Peak Design Slide Camera Strap
Comfortable camera strap, which I use for carrying heavier camera set ups.
Peak Design Leash Camera Strap
Thinner camera strap, which I use for carrying lighter camera set ups.
Peak Design Everyday Backpack
Versatile camera bag that also accommodates a laptop and other bits and bobs. Great for travelling with my camera.
Canon EOS 5D Mark IV
Camera I use for most of my serious photography work. Solidly dependable full frame DSLR with 30.4 megapixels.
Canon EF 40mm f/2.8 Lens
Love this pancake lens for its very small size, affordability and unexpectedly great image quality.
Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 Lens
A lens for superior image quality and depth of field uses, such as portraiture.
Meike EF to RF lens adapter
For attaching my older EF Canon lenses to newer RF mount mirrorless cameras.
Tamron 24-70 mm VC f/2.8 Lens
The lens I’ve used the most. A workhorse lens that’s great for most things and in my case is super useful for handheld shooting at night due to the built-in image stabilisation and reasonably fast aperture. Has been great for shooting YouTube videos too.
GVM 80W LED Video Light Kit
Provides the majority of the lighting for all of my videos.
RØDE VideoMic GO II
Microphone I use for most of my YouTube videos. Easy to use and gives me good audio at a reasonable price.
Ulanzi Flexible Tripod
Great for shooting with a phone or for a second setup for B roll.
Cahaya Microphone Stand
Mic stand I use in my video setup.
